2018 VENICE BIENNALE: GLOBAL DESIGN THINKING

Venice Biennale Exhibitor for the Airport Architecture Studio in collaboration with Fentress Architects, a world renown architectural firm that specializes in Airport Design. The exhibition was titled ‘Future Airports: Global Design Thinking.’ This has been a major highlight of my school career, giving my teammates and I the opportunity to exhibit our work at a world class Architecture event. This experience allowed me to learn and investigate the intricacies of the built environment in the modern world, and how to deal with the cultural print architecture leaves behind.

PROJECT EXHIBITED | Madagascar Airport

LOCATION | Venice, Italy

AWARD | ECC Best Architecture University Award 2018

THE PROCESS

Upon our arrival in Venice, Italy we began setting up for our Architecture Biennale Exhibition at Palazzo Bembo. Over the course of two days we finalized building our model which proved to be challenging due to the nature of the beast.....lack of materials in Venice, pieces of our model breaking unexpectedly, etc. The process proved to be testing, but through the camaraderie of our studio mates we all were able to exceed our expectations in exhibiting our work at one of the biggest Architecture events held every two years by maintaining each other accountable, and most importantly keeping each other calm, cool and collected.

We had multiple interviews throughout the process, and met with some of the greatest architects of our time.

The North Carolina State University Airport Studio of Spring 2018 was awarded the 'European Cultural Center Best Architecture University Award 2018'
